While these attacks might seem to happen for no reason, they're actually the body's response to what it perceives as the need for "fight or flight."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The attacks usually last about ten minutes, but can be as short as one minute. In severe cases, these attacks can happen in cycles. These cycles may last for extended periods. These cycles can cause anticipation anxiety between episodes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Physical symptoms of anxiety attacks generally include shortness of breath, heart palpitations and sweating. Tingling and numbness in the extremities, dizziness, lightheadedness, headaches and nausea are also commonly experienced. These may appear to be random, but they're actually the result of the body's preparations for protection.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The anxiety attack is brought on by a sudden onset of fear. In response, the body releases adrenaline followed by increases in the heart and breathing rate and production of sweat (to regulate body temperature). These actions prepare the body for the physical activities of fighting or escaping. Because the anticipated strenuous activity rarely follows the panic attack, these reactions result in physical discomfort.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The increased heart rate is felt as heart palpitations. Rapid breathing (hyperventilation) results in a drop in carbon dioxide levels in the lungs and blood. This leads to the tingling, numbness, dizziness and lightheadedness. The adrenaline causes a narrowing of the blood vessels which results in less blood flow to the head. It kind of had me thinking that there really must be something in this 'mind-over-matter' thing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Humor is indeed the best medicine there is whenever you are. I mean anyone can pay good money to listen to a comedian just to make you wet your pants after laughing so hard. Despite of what's been happening, and to those who has gone though the ordeal, it's better to just laugh while facing the troubles with a clear mind than anger with a clouded vision. One of my favorite celebrities of all time may have to be Woody Allen. Now this is one guy who gives you the in-your-face bluntness that he pulls out with gusto, even without even trying. You can talk just about anything with a man, and he's bound to mock the subject and you'll end up laughing rather than being upset about it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Woody Allen has this to say:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. You will experience a feeling of tightness inside your vagina. Be sure to take deep breaths and relax all muscles in your legs and stomach.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Step 2. Hold this ‘tightened’ upwards state for 5 seconds.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Step 4: Release your muscles. Imagine you are going from being ‘upwards’ to letting go and dropping back down to the ground floor. Rest for 10 seconds.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Step 5. Repeat 10 times.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;It can be quite difficult to master this so be sure to practice. If you have difficulty visualising the ‘upwards’ and ‘resting’ states, it helps to practice on the toilet. When you begin urinating try and stop the flow of urine midflow then release. This is the same as what you want to be doing during your exercises.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Once you have mastered your pelvic floor exercise of tightening and releasing, then it is time to introduce a dilator. A dilator is essential a small tube,, it comes in various sizes. The greater your pain, the smaller the size of the dilator you should begin with. If you do not have a dilator you can use a clean finger.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Step 1: Apply a small amount of lubricant to the tip of your dilator.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Step 2. Following the same steps as above, lie down on your back with your knees bent. Relax your pelvic floor muscles and insert the dilator as deep as is comfortable.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Step 3. Tighten your pelvic floor muscles around the dilator. Remember to stay relaxed and take deep breathes.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Step 4. Rotate the dilator. Imagine a clock face, hold the dilator in the directions of 3 O’clock, 6 O’clock, 9 O’clock and 12 O’clock.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Step 4. Hold each for 5 seconds then release and rest for 10 seconds.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Step 5. Repeat 10 times.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;When first starting it can help to use your finger instead of the dilator. He was in the restaurant business and he could&lt;BR&gt;be seen mixing it up with patrons always obviously drunk. Yet,&lt;BR&gt;he was a highly 'functional' alcoholic. He made a flaming&lt;BR&gt;dessert drink for the customers.&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Alcoholism hurts people, it damages lives and the addiction is a&lt;BR&gt;leech that controls and dominates the person it is attached to.&lt;BR&gt;Alcohol treatment can help, but it can only help if the person&lt;BR&gt;wants to change.&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;My former boss was a really nice guy. He had a really nice&lt;BR&gt;family, lived in a nice place and was successful in his field. I&lt;BR&gt;liked him, I liked his family. Minimizing brain damage during the Stroke will make Rehab faster and more effective. Rehab cannot cure the Stroke but can help in long-term recovery of the aftereffects of brain damage.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;The first step would be to diagnose a Stroke. A number of tests may be done on the patient to diagnose the type of Stroke so that the professionals can determine a treatment and Rehab plan. This includes blood pressure, blood sampling, X-ray, E.C.G., Echocardiogram, brain scans such as MRI and CT scans, and Carotid Ultrasound scanning.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;After the diagnosis the medical treatment begins. During a Stroke brain tissue is damaged by blood clots (ischemic Stroke) and /or internal bleeding (hemorrhagic Stroke). Various drug treatments must be started immediately to treat this condition. If used soon enough, they can help prevent damage to the brain.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;These include-Anti-platelet drugs, such as aspirin, to prevent clotting, anti-coagulant drugs, cholesterol lowering drugs, and antihypertensive drugs. Some patients may go in for surgical procedures like stenting to clear the clogs and reduce the intensity of the Stroke.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Rehabilitation therapy begins in the emergency care hospital within 24-48 hours after the Stroke, once the patient has stabilized. Rehabilitation of Stroke victims is a difficult and time-consuming task. It helps the Stroke survivors to relearn skills that are lost by brain damage during the Stroke.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;It also teaches new skills to make up for any disabilities and to practice and relearn communication, memory, and vocational and physical skills. Commonly people have a surge of recovery in the weeks following the Stroke, followed by a slower recovery in the next year or so.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Stroke can cause five types of disabilities: Paralysis, problems controlling movement, sensory disturbances including pain, problems using or understanding language, and emotional disturbances.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Paralysis is the most common result of Stroke. It causes problems of movement, posture and swallowing. Left-brain damage causes right-limb paralysis. Stroke victims may also experience sensory problems like pain, numbness and loss of feeling. Some may have aphasia, problems using or understanding language. People with Global aphasia may lose all their linguistic abilities.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Stroke can also cause damage to the parts of the brain related to memory, learning and awareness. Some also experience severe emotional trauma involving fear, anxiety, frustration and suicidal thoughts.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;During the Rehabilitation process, physicians are responsible for the long-term care of the Stroke survivors, including neurologists who look after acute care and physiatrists who look after the Rehab program. Physical therapists help patients with mobility issues like walking, climbing stairs and maintaining balance. Occupational therapists teach them daily living activities like feeding, grooming and using the toilet. Speech therapists help with language skills and swallowing problems. Rehab nurses care for the patient and educate the family concerning how to care for them. Social workers help Stroke survivors and their families with counseling and community resources.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;P&gt;Stroke is a serious disease, rendering the survivor in a weak and delicate position. The need for aftercare and Rehab is high, as the aftereffects of a Stroke are numerous and interfere with normal life function in an unmanageable way.
